Europe's largest market is preparing to go green. In fact, the German Federal Government has just approved the proposal that legalizes recreational cannabis in Germany.
The bill, which has yet to pass through Parliament, would allow the opening of Cannabis Social Club non-profit, from which members, limited to 500 for each organization, will be able to acquire up to 25 grams per day for a total of 50 grams per month.
Maximum quantity that drops for children aged 18 to 21, who will only be able to receive 30 grams of cannabis monthly.
Finally, under the supervision of public authorities, each member will be able to cultivate up to three seedlings of cannabis for personal use.
"The cannabis law marks a turning point in what has been a failed drug policy," said the German Health Minister. Karl Lauterbach - The objective is to repress the illicit market and drug-related crime, curb the trafficking of adulterated or toxic substances and reduce the number of consumers."
Cannabis in Germany: possible legalization from the end of 2023
Despite the possible limitations, the German government believes that the legislation could officially come into force as early as the end of this year.
