With the new government comes the first bill it would like ban the sale of light cannabis.

The law, presented in the Senate on October 13th by the Forza Italia senator Maurizio Gasparri, of which he is the first signatory, dates back to 2019 and wants to ban the trade of light hemp for recreational use.
The text of the law to ban light cannabis
The DDL presented by Gasparri wants modify the law of 2 December 2016, n. 242, law which started the market of light cannabis and its derivatives. But can it really? Let's analyze it in detail.
The beginning is already not the best. A study by is cited in the law on cannabis light Giovanni Serpelloni, former head of the Department of Anti-Drug Policies at the time of Carlo Giovanardi, sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison for attempted extortion.
Continuing, the text of the law quotes: "SThe sale and use of hemp inflorescences are prohibited human use". Too bad that, currently, recreational use has never been accepted and inflorescences are proposed for technical and collectible use, specify that they are not intended for human consumption. So it's not clear how something that's already banned could be banned.
Unfortunately, even if legal, this sector it is not yet regulated optimally. Both growers and sellers are often subject to seizures and administrative detention resulting in serious economic losses, despite not committing any crimes.
Comprehensive regulation has been required for some time to incentivize a sector that now matters tens of thousands of workers, has revived the primary sector and undauntedly combats illegal business, instead of repressing it.
In conclusion, the light cannabis sector is a risk? No, at least for now. But attacks of this type are a lesson to understand how much the union of all those interested in the hemp supply chain is fundamental.
