Not classified as a doping substance by WADA (the World Anti-Doping Agency), the CBD is increasingly appreciated in the world of sports, both by enthusiasts and professionals. The reasons?
In addition to being a natural analgesic and anti-inflammatory, free of side effects, CBD helps to better manage anxiety, both before, during and after performance, promotes sleep and speeds up muscle recovery. Benefits which, as confirmed by a latest study in the sports field, guarantee a high quality performance.

CBD and sport: how it improves athletic performance
Recently published in Frontiers in Pharmacology, one study confirmed the potential of CBD in the sports field, explaining in detail all the benefits of this molecule.
"Based on what is currently known, CBD has potential benefits and properties that could help the athlete feel better when facing competition. Among these benefits, the consumption of CBD could rest better the athletes, reduce stress and feeling better about competition and training, can relax your muscles after damage caused by physical exertion e reduce pain caused by high physical effort,” write authors Daniel Rojas-Valverde and Andrea Fallas-Campos of the National University of Heredia in Costa Rica.
Furthermore: "New evidence has suggested that in humans the intake of CBD could improve the differentiation of satellite cells in muscles, improving the muscle recovery and the performance. As well as recent results demonstrating modest but significant effects on muscle damage and recovery within 72 hours of taking 60 mg of CBD. However, while this data is promising, "a greater quantity, quality and variety of sport and exercise specific studies are needed."
A deep and restful sleep, stress reduction, mood improvement, reduction of inflammation, oxidative stress and pain, are parameters of particular importance for scholars, who declare:
“CBD appears to have anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, analgesic, anxiolytic, and potentially recovery-promoting properties in athletes, but further scientific evidence is needed to confirm these effects.” More in-depth studies on dosage, tolerance of athletes, specificity of sport, the results of which will help to best benefit from this molecule.
"The potential therapeutic benefits of CBD administration have been minimized for years - conclude the authors - but the current scenario could increase knowledge of this natural compound and its effects".
