As we read from official press release, in Spain "the Ministry of Health has started the process to draw up the decree with which it intends to regulate the therapeutic cannabis".
By allowing legal channels the ability to dispense “standardized therapeutic preparations that have been proven to relieve pain and suffering,” the goal is to ensure the highest quality of products and safety of patients.
In fact, the proposal refers to the recommendations of the European Observatory on Cannabis Consumption and Cultivation (OECCC), the professional associations and the scientific community, and is based on the "best scientific evidence available."

Medical cannabis in Spain: what the law requires
The regulatory framework is “designed to evolve dynamically, allowing for the incorporation of ever-new elements”. In fact, the objective is to create “major tests on the use of cannabinoids for therapeutic purposes".
Furthermore, as happens with similar regulations, the Ministry of Health website has opened a section completely dedicated to citizens, who will be able to contribute to the formulation of the legislation.
"With this regulation, Spain becomes similar to neighboring countries that have regulations that allow the use of medicinal cannabis, such as Portugal and the United Kingdom. And it is also positioned in line with the World Health Organization and the United Nations, which recognize the therapeutic potential of these compounds.
