Seven out of 10 Americans are in favor to the legalization of cannabis. This is what emerges from the new survey conducted by Gallup from 2 to 23 October, which confirms: it is the highest rate ever recorded since 1969.
In addition to supporters in fact, who touch the 70% of the population, only 29% of US adults said they were against legalization, while 1% were unsure.

As of today, support is highest among liberals (91%) and Democrats (87%) and lowest among conservatives (52%) and Republicans (55%). Support that was found to be “inversely related to age, reaching the 79% among young people between 18 and 34 years old. However, even among older people, nearly two-thirds (64%) are in favor."
“For now, the high level of support among young adults suggests that national support it will only expand in the years to come, likely leading more states, and perhaps even the federal government, to legalize it,” the survey authors concluded.
