Holland cannabis legalization project

Pilot legalization begins in the Netherlands

I am Breda and Tilburg the two cities where, starting from next December 15th, the legalization project will have to start. As announced, to facilitate the transition to the new model, the selected coffee shops "will be able to offer both legally grown products and tolerated products".

A choice forced by the limited number of official growers: only two in this start-up phase of the experiment, which will supply the premises during the first six weeks of the program. To which two further growers will be added "by February 2024".

Holland's legalization program, which came after the testing already started in various cities in Switzerland, which, although not part of the EU, makes its influence felt, will last 4 years and aims to fully involve 10 Dutch cities, including the capital district Amsterdam-Oost.

In both states, the purpose of the experiment is to study the effects of legalization on the health of consumers, so as to guarantee a "future responsible cannabis policy“.
