The first edition of the event will be held from 30 September to 2 October Milan Fashion Weed, the festival on hemp, fashion and hemp in fashion.
The initiative, organized by The Hemp Club, the first Cannabis Club of Milan, wants to promote a sustainable lifestyle starting from clothing. Sustainable, inclusive and ecological fashion.
Gathering there will be producers, enthusiasts, activists, designers, artists and artisans where, in time with music and DJ sets, they will present their creations with performances, fashion shows and exhibition stands. A journey into the past to also show the new generations that the world of fashion can and must be more sustainable.
"With great enthusiasm we arrived at this first edition of Milano Fashion Weed - explain the organizers - the idea is to replicate the Milan Fashion Week which is divided into four annual events, two dedicated to men and two to women. We, although without following the gender divisions proposed by the global event, would like to propose in our turn four annual meetings with the aim of involving the citizen of Milan and beyond in a more ethical choice on the topic of fashion."
From kitchen towels to clothing and sheets, hemp has always filled our homes and wardrobes. In fact, among the scheduled events, there is an exhibition of Ancient Hemp Museum, where you can admire collections of military bags, kits and a bed set up with hemp sheets and pillowcases.
"We like to demonstrate how much hemp was present in our culture and tradition - continue the promoters of the initiative - but what is truly extraordinary is the resistance to time of this fantastic material, whose fabrics are still perfect despite over a century of life and use. Fashion, ever faster and constantly changing, should return to hemp if it really wants to be sustainable."
