Germany: it is possible to drive positive for cannabis

After legalizing cannabis and authorized the first CSCs (cannabis social club), the Germany introduced gods new limits that allowed consumers to drive (without breaking the law).

In particular, the maximum level of THC detectable in drivers has risen 3.5 nanograms per milliliter of blood.

This was established, at the request of the Ministry of Transport, by a group independent experts in the fields of medicine, law, transport and police.

Which after various comparisons confirmed that the new permitted THC limit would be equivalent a 20 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood, which is legal in Germany.

Cannabis while driving in Germany: fines for those who break the law

In addition to staying prohibited the possibility of driving after taking both alcohol and cannabis, the government has also introduced new ones sanctions. Including:

  • 500 euro fine for drivers in whom a concentration is detected equal or higher to 3.5 nanograms of THC in the blood
  • from 1000 euros upwards for whom combine alcohol and cannabis
  • up to 3500 euros for repeated infringements
  • before the age of 21 and 2 years of driving licence, the driver applies prohibition of cannabis while driving, which, if not respected, involves a fine of 250 euros per
