Cannabis in Lausanne: legalization data

The pilot project, called "Cann-L", aims to study the effects of regulation on consumer behavior and its impact on the illegal market. Consumers who will in fact have to complete a questionnaire every 6 months.

I am 600 adults who have already made an appointment to participate in the project. Of these, 320 have already purchased cannabis from the new dedicated facility. “On average they have between 35 and 40 years old and are generally not part of any addiction-related program,” Zobel further highlighted.

In Lausanne the shop is located on rue du Maupas, near the Italian restaurant "La Nonna". An area known for the massive presence of drug dealers, which, as Zobel noted, are still active. The reason? The shop's first customers did not get their supplies on the street, but from acquaintances or producers.

And with the 40% of sales, the type of cannabis most requested by participants in the initiative, which will last for another 4 and a half years, is the strongest one, with approximately 15% THC.

As anticipated at the beginning, legalization is also proceeding other cities of Switzerland, including Basel, Zurich and soon also in Bern, Lucerne, Bienne and Geneva.

But the big news comes from Allschwil, in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, where cannabis will be distributed by the first dispensary in Europe. Open to serve the 4 thousand people who will participate in the trial.
