“Our research confirms the effectiveness of CBD in prevent or mitigate the effects ofAlzheimer's. Therefore, future CBD supplement formulations could be strategically positioned to include indications for the prevention and mitigation of Alzheimer's, broadening its therapeutic repertoire."

This is what was highlighted by researchers from China Pharmaceutical University, who, in the new scientific study published on Cells, they valued the properties anti-inflammatory e neuroprotective of the cannabinoid.

Study titled: “Evaluating Cannabidiol as a Therapeutic Agent to Prevent and Alleviate Neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's Disease,” in which CBD was administered to models animals.

CBD for Alzheimer's: Anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective

"In Alzheimer's disease (AD) the neuroinflammation causes synaptic and neuronal damage - and CBD - "given its demonstrated effectiveness in the management of neuropathic pain for epilepsy", could successfully act to counteract it.

"To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of CBD in AD, researchers, using Aβ1–42: a biomarker associated at the onset of Alzheimer's, they conducted both in vitro and in vivo experiments on mice. RNA analysis was instead used to clarify the therapeutic mechanism of CBD.

Without causing significant damage and cell death, CBD was found to appear counteract cognitive and memory disorders induced by Aβ1–42.

“Our findings suggest the efficacy of CBD in moderating microglial and astrocytic activation, offering anti-inflammatory benefits that they protect synaptic function e they relieve cognitive deficits associated with Alzheimer's", the researchers declare, underlining that: "Our data support the potential therapeutic role of CBD in counteracting neuroinflammation related to AD".

Benefits possible mainly thanks to neuroprotective properties of CBD, confirmed by numerous scientific research.
