Last September 20th, has entered into force the decree inserting oral CBD compositions into the medicinal table, section B of the consolidated law on narcotics, putting pressure on an ever-expanding sector as well as all the people who benefit from it on a daily basis.

But what are the real consequences of this provision? With headlines like "Amazing CBD" or "Crack Up on Cannabis Light", the mainstream press has only contributed to alarming and confusing the situation. It is therefore necessary to clarify.

CBD decree in force

Has CBD become narcotic? Let's clarify

No, CBD has not become narcotic. The decree signed by the current Minister of Health Schillaci it doesn't touch absolutely the cannabinoid in itself. This in fact concerns exclusively oral preparations, therefore: oils, extracts, tinctures and capsules.

"Le light cannabis inflorescences will they no longer be marketed?" Once again no. It is not true that light cannabis will only be sold in pharmacies, but it will remain available in hemp shops and similar, e-commerce, parapharmacies, herbalist shops and tobacconists.

Likewise, the measure will not affect the products with CBD for cosmetic use, officially approved by the European Union.

Decree on CBD: associations have taken action to stop it

There are several associations that, upon hearing the news of the decree on CBD, took action to block it, before it could create significant consequences for both the sector, which employs thousands of workers, and to patients.

Hemp Sativa Italy (CSI) launched a fundraising to bring hemp to the State Council and "thereby resolve the non-pharmaceutical uses and problems relating to CBD oil".

Likewise, theItalian Hemp Entrepreneurs Association has relied on the law firm Prestige Legal & Advisory of Rome to analyze and remedy the mistake made in our Peninsula.

Yes, because while the rest of the world, including Europe, is moving towards legalization, let's remember the Germany which recently approved the cannabis law, in Italy we are taking serious steps backwards.
